A Strong Woman

I really don't have much mood today.

Maybe it's more of listlessness than apathy. Well, that's usually how I always feel. Is there a difference? Maybe I let go too easily. It's only when they talk about it that the tears try to squeeze out.

It's funny how sometimes when the world is freaking out around you, it gives you the insight to be the calm one. And I have no reason to belittle their grief.

I was thought to believe in karma but you can't help that feeling of unfairness and frustration you get.

She's was a really strong woman, that's the only word I can think of. Grounded but still motherly.

May you be well wherever you are.

This last Penang post is dedicated to Ah Ma though it's not gonna be a very good post with minimal captions that lack any enthusiasm whatsoever because I just really want to get it over with.

Visit to Ayer Hitam on Chu Er.

Unusual sofa.

Ah Yew Pek and Peng Soon with daddy at the dining table. I liked this mee but i still prefer last time's yee mee.

Their cat whose name I can't recall.

Was bored waiting for dad in the car after that and took a leaf outta my sister's book.

But I doubt I'll ever be good at it.

*padan muka*

Tsk, super camwhore poser.

Heh, a self shot (which I never do since I can't master that skill) that actually turned out ok. First try summore.

Mei mei so cute.

Their doggy biscuits. Not to be consumed by real dogs.

Ate at Sakae Sushi in Gurney Plaza next door with sis, Peng Soon and Lay Siang since lazy to go out with the rest.

Their garlic rice thingy which we shared was nice.

Bento.

Nice way to eat the rice: add the chawanmushi egg custard into the rice.

Mine. Yes, I'm boring. Can't seem to find anything else to order from there.

I almost prefer Sushi Tei sometimes though their chawanmushi sucks and their prices are abit above affordable.

At least more choices and better quality.

Went to the arcade after that to work off the food. Sis is abit addicted I think.

They have a Tekken 6 with Alisa. Stunned.

Why la TCM?

Dad called us to watch some fireworks later from our hotel room. 8th floor is just the right height.

I like the colours.

Kim Gary for brunch the next day. Or was it high tea?

Either way, breakfast just doesn't exist in our itenerary. (mum and dad are an exception coz they are old oledi weird)

Chocolate one not that nice. Like thick sweet syrup add sugar coated chocolate nia. A diabetic's hell.

So cute, like the @.@ emote.

I love their broccoli cheese thingy.

Super thick toast, longer than my middle finger. I measured. Then again, my fingers quite stumpy la.

Dinner at Ayer Hitam that night.

Kiam chai boey is love. Summore steaming big pot like that, drool much.

Rest of the dishes. Super yummy, took a lot for me to control my helpings.

My grandaunt cute anot?

We had Japs as guests for dinner that night. Shuji and M-something something.

I only remembered the man's name because he spelt it out for us.

And if you're wondering what they're staring at, my uncle is giving one of his famous foot reflexology thing again.

Ouch ouch ouch.

I really really wanna learn japanese now. And spanish. Sí, spanish.

See, told you we'd savour Penang food.

Yum.

Gurney Drive stuff is really overpriced but it's a tourist spot so what to do.

Max zoom to snap these birds in the low tide from my hotel room. Even this is cropped.

Movie that night: 72 Tenants of Prosperity (72家租客)

Our snackage lol.

Nice movie, quite a few subplots simultaneously but my fav was the main love triangle and next is the shorty and really hot girl story.

Brunch next day at hawker centre not in Gurney Drive that had awesome ice kacang. It's like one of the Asia Cafe things.

I always must have Hokkien Mee at least once in Penang. And I like the one there.

Loh bak which gave me sore throat the next day. Everything so oily.

Century egg is teh pwnz.

(note: Some peeople can't differentiate between salted egg and salted century egg. Haih, do laser for what now?)

Mystery fruit.

Lay Siang went to ask the hawker lady and came back to tell us but I forgot already. Really funny name that's like also a non-food related noun.

Anyone know?

Had apom as snacks later. Also dabao lotsa loh bak and makan whole afternoon.

A dinner later, but this one not so long so I didn't put it wth the other two.

Love peanuts.

Cute dress and cute smile.

First dish. Nice and crispy.

Tofu and meat. Nice also.

The egg and chicken is awesome. Really really awesome.

Veggie dish. Summore so much cauliflower, yummy.

Err, fish. With mint leaves. And assam.

Skip.

More garlic for Lay Yih. Sweat.

Cousins' boredom killer: method #123

Try to add huge chunk of ice into my glass.

Fail and try to knock it in.

Fail and try to break it to pieces (on his used plate).

Fail and add sambal to pass it up as dessert.

Still fail.

Oh, you know the wet paper towels they give?

Seems there's a standard use for them I never knew about.

I was super grossed out by it.

Until I noticed...

Ew. Rather use old toothbrush.

Lol.

Saw this outside the arcade on our next visit.

All Dragonball wan. They really love it here. I was sooo excited when I saw one solitary One Piece.

Saw cute rat trapped on door fram but didn't know how to help it.

Ash, squeal your heart out.

My staple is always Hokkien Mee and my sis recently got one too: Assam Laksa.

Last meal in Penang: sheng mian.

Got back quite fast and sis cabut off to cheer right away without helping unload or unpack as usual. Pft.

The parents' and my dinner at Yuee's. I requested soup since my sore throat was still bothering me.

Going back to Penang again Friday noon with on a flight. Wow, didn't think we'd have to use the white T-shirts again so soon.

P.S.: Funeral rites are tedious. I have my own way of honouring and remembering thank you. And I'm hungry, I shall go binge.
